Volunteers
If you want to volunteer, please email scahs88@digitalics.com.
We have lots to do, and can use plenty of help.
Here are the volunteers/tasks we have assigned so far (in no particular order):
- David: website, emails, contacts, organize the organizers
- Brad: treasurer, collect $ and RSVPs
- Michelle: catering specialist, Champs liaison
- Robin: publicity
- Kyle: Slideshow, fireworks tailgate, check-in shift
- Lara: commemorative "classbook"
- Amy: find teachers and invite them, arrange school tour
- Gillian: decorations, banners
- Nadia: awaiting assignment (on travel till May?)
- Melissa: memorial for the deceased
- Christy: find/reserve hotel rooms, print name tags
- Mindy: Sunday picnic, check-in shift
- Greg: Saturday (or whenever) golf outing
Other tasks needing help:
- Organize State College Spikes game (they play July 4th at 1pm - perfect timing!). I think they
have a picnic area or something. This is really easy, just gather info on how to buy tix, figure
out how we can sit together (reserved seats), and find out about the picnic area.
- Organize something at the arts festival (let's keep it simple, e.g.: meet up at a concert, happy
hour somewhere)
- More check-in shifts
- Set up decorations. Arrive a few hours before the event.
- Anyone know anything about scanning photos or negatives? We want to do a slideshow, but
need some technical help.
- The owner of Fun Unleashed (like Chucky Cheese?) is a classmate and offered discounted
admission for kids and free admission for classmates. Perhaps saturday mid-day?
- Activities: The responses from the survey indicated that people mostly just want time
to catch up with friends without a lot of noise. Perhaps we can plan some activities
later, especially if we figure out we have multiple spaces we can separate off. As for
amplified noise, I'd like to keep it to some brief announcements, but do want to spend a
just a few minutes to get some feeback on what people expect for the next reunion while
we've got a large group together. Maybe an exercise in "raise your hand if you want
to..." I also think that whatever we do should allow people to come and go as they wish,
without requiring a big time commitment.
- What else?
